The puzzle

The Daily Seed is set each midnight from the date, the way the city is laid out and the tune is written: the same number, so the same paper all day and a different one tomorrow. The match is played in the arena's own engine when the page opens, from the day's seed, so the result is the same for everyone. The river is the dashboard's USGS gauge, live. The sky is the city's, and the planets are placed from their orbital elements to about a degree, which is enough to know a sign. The ghosts are the backrooms' record.
